Running Royal Dutch Shell

This independent (non-commissioned) political biography of the Anglo-Dutch oil & gas giant is scheduled to appear in 2012. It is based on archival research, internal documents and extensive interviewing. Check Preview 1 and Preview 2 (in Dutch only) for a taste of what's coming!

Project Status

A project with interruptions:

Research for the Royal Dutch Shell book started in 2000 but was interrupted two times:

- in 2001-2004 for my biography of Anton Philips (1874-1951), one of the founders of Royal Philips Electronics.
- in 2007-2010 for my case study about the pitfalls of New Public Management at the Dutch Highways and Waterways Agency

Since 2005, researchers are conducting extensive archival exploration in the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and the USA. Their most recent project was an investigation of the US diplomatic Cables on RD Shell in the Wikileaks file, the results of which are described in Preview 2.

This year, I finally expect to finish this book.
