This investigative, independent (non-commissioned) biography of the Anglo-Dutch oil & gas giant is scheduled to appear in 2008. It is based on in-depth archival research, internal documents and extensive interviews. Check the Preview (in Dutch only) for a taste of what's coming!

Project Status

A project with interruptions:

Research for the Royal Dutch Shell book started as early as 1996, but was interrupted four times:

- in 1996-1997 for a book about Royal Philips Electronics (Let's make things better)
- in 1998 for a book about the Dutch corporate networks (XXL)
- in 1999 for a book about the Dutch economic model (Let's talk Dutch now)
- in 2001-2004 for a biography of Anton Philips (1874-1951), one of the founders of Royal Philips Electronics.

In 2005-2007 a team of researchers conducted extensive archival research in the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and the USA.

This year, I finally find the time to finish this project.
